Nyx of Sea Green Zines is one of those zinesters who, in my eyes, really makes the zine community a capital-c Community. They use their website and “Happy Mail Mondays” YouTube channel to create bridges, sharing zines and letters, amplifying contributor requests and projects, making connections between zinesters worldwide. Why it took so long for me to trade zines with them is a total mystery, but I’m so glad that we did. Happy Mail, indeed.

Today I’m going to be sharing their zine for pottymouths, titled “The F Word”. Covering the history — and speculating on the longevity — of the word FUCK, the zine is straightforward and informative. It kicks off with an anecdote from Nyx’s childhood that made me smile, and ends by speculating on the healing properties of the word. It’d feel like a missed opportunity if I didn’t pepper my thoughts on the title with the star expletive, so here we go: I fucking dig this zine, it is abso-fucking-lately fantastic, and you should fucking read it. 😏
