cat. moth. crow… who?
Hi! 👋 I’m Dayna. I value community, autonomy, expression, joy, beauty, and authenticity. I’m passionate about dismantling barriers to participation in art-making and creativity. I believe that storytelling and zines can change the world! Fun facts: I collect zines, vinyl records, antique plush toys, and children’s book illustrations. My hobbies include riding bikes, enjoying live music, porch-sitting with friends, exploring cities, and making music with synths & keyboards. I don’t have a driver’s license. My favorite emojis are 🐛💗✨🌱. You can reach me via , on Tiktok, or on Instagram at @catmothcrow.
Dayna Moth (they/she) is a zinester, designer, art-maker, and writer with a passion for storytelling, community, and removing barriers to participation in the arts. They are the current curator of @zinereviews, helping zinesters reach new audiences with their self-published works, as well as a volunteer at the Neither/nor Zine Library, a facilitator for the Zine Library’s monthly Zine Club, and an organizer for KC Zine Con, the midwest’s DIY Publishing Fest. Of KC Zine Con, The Pitch remarked: “micro publications serve as antibodies against the disconnection that haunts our digital age, and KC’s version of the vibe was just right… To attend Zine Con is to feel a part of a beautiful artistic community beginning to break through.”
Dayna’s zines have been archived in the Museum of Contemporary Witchcraft, the Kansas City Public Library, the Neither/nor Zine Library, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection, the Denver Zine Library, and the LaBudde Special Collections at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Pick up some of their zines from the Portland Button Works’ Spiral House Shop, Neither/nor Zine Distro locations throughout Kansas City, or via their Etsy. When they’re not publishing, cataloging, or reviewing zines, they facilitate writing workshops with an emphasis on helping students craft personal narratives.
