Speaking of zinesters I’d invite to join my pub trivia team, the Ex-Zine Editor of Bubblegum Slut fame would most definitely get an invite. Her loquacious new title Trainwreck Book Club is a deep, deep dive into “chronicles of crashes, hot messes, hard living, and beautiful disasters” that charts her own journey from “Quiet Weird Girl-to-Trainwreck-to-Late Diagnosed Neurodivergent” through book reviews and recollections. Topics include Courtney Love and Katiejane Garside, Cat Marnell and xoJane, and enough juicy book recommendations to max out your library card. This zine is detailed and clever and has a winning combination of perzine-charm and “how to” zine-trivia that I completely dug. I’m so glad that the “Ex-” in the Ex-Zine Editor’s title is a bit of a misnomer now, because I love reading their work and I hope they keep creating such wordy, wonderful zines!
