When she was 11, Leisha curated a collage of cut-n-paste armpits: images of skinny catalog models with their arms raised above their heads, a compilation she titled “Pit Chick”. Thirty years later, after unearthing those ten stapled pages, adult Leisha playfully converses with her younger self, scribbling poems, notes, and doodles in the reflection of the pit chicks. The writing fills up the page like a crazy quilt, fragments of thoughts dancing every which way on the page, memories colliding mid-sentence with typewritten musings on puberty, memory, aging, passion, sexuality,and bodies. I’ve never seen a perzine quite like this one; it is playful and weird (in all the best ways) and chaotic and heartfelt.
