Are you a fan of perzines? How about travelogues? If you’re nodding yes, you’re going to want to pick up “Straightaway Tangent” from Pittsburgh’s Tangent Distro. After a break-up, August hits the road in Mettapod (a 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan) “because the tether is long and there’s nothing holding (them) back.” What follows is an adventure that takes them from Pittsburgh, to Washington DC, to Savannah, Georgia, to countless Paneras and local coffee shop haunts, from Walmart parking lots, to goth clubs and parks, from the here and now and into the deep recesses of memory. I’m so grateful that August has taken us along for the ride, because “Straightaway Tangent #1” is un-put-downable. My only complaint about this zine is that I wanted more of it… so I’m glad that I also was sent Issue #2. I can’t wait to dive in and read more of August’s adventures and musings. 📓 Details: half-size, 51 pages, b&w💌 : $1 - $5 |
