I always look forward to reading zines by Jonas. There’s just something about their writing that is deeply relatable and honest and makes me feel like someone else “gets it” — their zines make me feel less alone in this world. Issue 7 of Fixer Eraser is no different, featuring memories and musings about why they write zines, feeling more and more alienated at zine fests, and being haunted by the memory of a friendship that ended abruptly. The zine is 30 pages long and text-heavy, but it’s a quick read… once you start reading it, you won’t want to stop. In fact, that might be the only critique I have of this zine: that I read it too quickly, and now I’m eager for more. Maybe I’ll wrote Jonas a penpal letter, start a correspondence. When they remarked: “I wrote zines and wondered if they would fall into the hands of a friend I’d never make. I wanted to write messages, slip them into bottles and cast them out, hoping for someone to find them — then find me” I found myself nodding as I so often do when I read a Jonas-zine. Consider this message in a bottle received. 📓 Details: half-size, 30 pages, b&w💌 : $3 via portland button works |
