Kat Curio makes tiny zines that explore big emotions. Each one feels a little bit like a gentle wake-up call. First up is “Do Something”, a zine about activism that tackles the overwhelm we can feel in the face of social issues. It’s a pertinent reminder that, with focused attention, we can channel our talents towards positive change. In the middle is “I Feel Sad”, which gives us the space to sit in our heavy feelings without judgement. Last but certainly not least, is “I Exist”, a meditation in zine form. Rendered in softly shaded hues of reds and blues, the zine slowly grounds us in space and our bodies. When unfolded, the zine reveals a triumphant, affirming message of “I am here” surrounded by glittering stars. A simple, lovely little reminder.
